WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A BED AND BREAKFAST AND A HOTEL

“What is the difference between a Bed and Breakfast and a Hotel”?

In order to point out the differences, let us first answer the question, “What is a Bed and Breakfast”?  Every Bed and Breakfast is a unique property.  There are many B&B’s that have a historical designation but others are very new and modern. No two will ever be the same.  A breakfast is typically included with the price of the room.   A Bed and Breakfast is the local, organic version of the hospitality industry.

Breakfast:  At B&B’s, a guest’s breakfast is included in the cost of the room.  At most hotels, especially the “luxury” hotels, breakfast can range from Rs. 250.00 – Rs. 350.00 per person.  At a Bed and Breakfast, most offer a gourmet breakfast that is served in a common area of the residence with the other guests.  A select few will deliver breakfast to the guest room at a time of their choosing.
Amenities:  This is what separates a Bed and Breakfast from a Hotel.  Some of the "extras" that a hotel provides, such as internet that can quickly add Rs. 200.00 to rs.300.00 to the bill at a hotel is provided free at  Bed and Breakfast.
Unique Rooms:  Hotels provide rooms that are designed to be one size fits all.  They are all similar in design and style. All of the rooms at a Bed and Breakfast are unique and no two are the same.  Most rooms are furnished with luxury linens and bedding.  Some have modern furnishings while others have high quality antiques.
Deposits & Cancelations:  Hotels usually secure a guests credit card to “hold” a room for the guest. The Hotel does not guarantee you a particular room in their inventory. They usually give the traveller up to 24 hours prior to cancel. Because a B&B is guaranteeing the guest one of their unique rooms they require a deposit, typically one night stay or fifty percent of the balance of the stay.  In return, the Inn no longer markets the room.  A cancellation can have a dramatic impact on a Bed and Breakfast.  Most B&B’s have high demand rooms and a limited inventory.   As a result, B&B’s have far more stringent cancellation policies.

Every B&B Is Personally Operated By An Owner Whose Goal Is To Offer You The Best Possible Experience. You’re Not Just Another Room Number — You’re A True Guest, And You’ll Never Feel More Welcome Than At A B&B.

B&B = Luxury Travel That Doesn't Break The Bank
