“Devrukh”- An Unexplored Tourist Destination in Konkan

Devrukh is a town in the tehsil of Sangameshwar in the Ratnagiri district of the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is a headquarters for the tehsil Sangmeshwar. It is part of the Konkan region. Devrukh has primarily agrarian society. Devrukh enjoys salubrious climate. Summers are warm and winters are not very chilly. However every year Devrukh experiences heavy monsoon (400 cm to 500 cm rains every year). Rice, Cashew and Alphonso (Hapus) Mangoes are major crops in Devrukh. Devrukh is a birthplace of social reformer -  Parvatibai Athavale.
 
Sightseeing in and around Devrukh:
Marleshwar, is an ancient Cave Shiva Temple, which is at distance of 17 km from Devrukh.


Karneshwar, Temple which is built in the Hemadapanthi style of Shiva Temples, and is located at around 22 km from Devrukh.

Vashi Dam,  Not the biggest dam but really great to see in the evening as it is situated facing towards Sahyadri Ranges.
 
 
 

Amba Ghat - Vishalgad Forest – Pawankhind, (All together 50km) - The place where Baji Prabhu Deshpande faught for Great Shivaji Maharaj, The road to Pwaan Khind goes from beautiful Amba Ghat(25km) and Vishalgad Road forest(38km) . You will definitely enjoy this journey specially from June to December.
