AMBOLI : Enjoy the rains by taking a drive to Amboli this season. Monsoon presents the best that nature has on offer (read lush green hills and seasonal waterfalls). Amboli is situated in the Southern side of the Sahyadri hill range at an altitude of 690 meters. This hill station reportedly receives high rainfall and is one of the wettest places in Maharashtra. In your pursuit of peace and solitude, perhaps you will come across Amboli, a tranquil hill station on the Western Ghats, surrounded by thick forests and tree canopied hills. On the coastal side, Amboli peers over the tree lined sandy ribbon of the Konkan coast; on the other three sides, you are rewarded by a magnificent panorama of the sweeping valley. The hill station is very charming and there are a thousand waterfalls gushing down the hills. This is an idyllic place to relax, unwind and go for long walks. Spend your days meandering through scenic hill scapes and misty forests, pack a picnic and wander up un-trodden paths. Go fishing at Hiranya Keshi, picnic at Nagatta Falls, Mahadev Gad and Narayan Gad, sightseeing at the Bauxite Mines, Sea View and Shirgaonkar point. So when you just want to get away from it all, come to Amboli. The chances are that you will lose track of time in this quiet retreat with its rejuvenating climate and charming mountain scenery.

Hiranyakeshi, Amboli : Scenic place of worship dedicated to Lord Shiva where pilgrims gather in large numbers during Mahashivratri. The Hiranyakeshi river originates from mountain rock and flows down from this place. You can spend hours angling for fish in its proceedings stream. 5.5 Km away from Amboli.
Nangartas Water Fall, Amboli: For waterfall lovers this roaring beauty is just 9 kms. away. When you arrive at this fall walk cautiously at the edge of the drop off. Stand on the erected platform for viewers and let your eyes follow the sound of falling water into the cavity.

Sawantwadi Palace: Sawantwadi was ruled by Khemsawant and this beautiful palace was built by King Khemsawant- Bhosle(3rd) in 1800 A.D., where tourist can see ‘Ganjifa’ traditional art of paintng which is more than 300 yrs. Old. Lake (Moti Talav) in front of the palace is spot for boating. The palace was built by Khem Sawant Bhosale ruler of princely state Sunderwadi during 1755-1803. Entry gate (Lester gate) was built in 1895.

Shilpgram, Sawantwadi & Wooden Toys: Wooden Toys : Toys are made from “Pangera” tree, famous for its lightness. These colourful toys is an imported traditional art at Chitarali. These toys are very famous in all over Maharashtra.

Moti Lake : Moti means pearl and this lake is a Pearl in the cap of picturesque town Sawantwadi it reside in enchanting landscape formed by the pleasing green hills all around boating facility is available in the lake. Sawantwadi town situated at the periphery of Moti Talav is a unique example of peripheral city of India.

i live in sawantwadi. what a place this is. most attracting thing in sawantwadi is the fresh & cool air of sawantwadi.
